California Senate doubles down on RPS requirement

The California State Senate has upped the ante on renewable energy, having passed legislation that would raise the state’s renewable electricity goal to 50% by 2030. If the upgraded renewable portfolio standard (RPS) becomes law, California would continue to reap the benefits of a vibrant renewable market, particularly where photovoltaic and wind technologies are concerned.

From the 10th to the 12th of June 2015, the Munich Trade Fair Centre (Messe München International) will become once again the centre of the international solar industry. At Intersolar Europe, the world’s largest exhibition for the solar industry, visitors can expect a comprehensive program involving solar products, storage systems and photovoltaic services. Milk the Sun is again present at the exhibition with a booth to provide comprehensive information on global solar investment opportunities. Meet with us in Hall A3 at Booth A3.260 and take advantage of our free entry codes to the exhibition.

Mining and photovoltaics: The Chilean experience

Mining and photovoltaics: The Chilean experience

Some may snicker when the mining industry and ecological sustainability are mentioned in the same sentence. Minimizing environmental impact is no easy task for an industry that consumes vast water and energy resources to rip mountains of ore out of the ground and process them with chemical cocktails. But on the energy front in recent years, the potential of renewable energy technologies in mining operations, especially photovoltaics, has become a hot topic.

Globally, solar PV growth rate is expected to reach 30% compared to last year. This means that in 2015, solar PV installations around the world will represent 57.3 GW.

Photovoltaic systems… floating to a pond near you?

Photovoltaic systems… floating to a pond near you?

You´ve seen them on rooves; you´ve seen them in pastures. How about an island of photovoltaic panels floating in your neighborhood pond? Floating photovoltaic systems, or “floatovoltaics”, may well become a more common sight, as they offer an array of benefits compared with their terrestrial brethren.
