Germany held its first solar auction of the year and as a result, 24 bids for large-scale projects of over 750 kW were accepted, amounting to a new capacity of 178 MW. The average rate was 4,80 cents per kWh.
The Danish Energy Agency has submitted a plan for joint wind and solar auctions. The idea was originally suggested by the government, and aims for a fair competition between both technologies as well as for a smooth procurement process for renewables.
Late last month, Poland held its second renewable energy auction, open to solar, wind and hydro power projects. 472 new projects were awarded, with a maximum size of 1 MW per project. As expected, solar received the largest share.
Poland has announced a second auction for solar, wind and hydro power projects, to be held on June 29th. The project sizes will range from 40 kW to 1 MW, with solar receiving the biggest shares.
In Turkey, new PV projects face a long and tiring bureaucratic process before they can be put to action. As a result, a current auction is receiving little attention. Nonetheless, Turkey’s solar sector continues to grow.
