According to a forecast by Bernreuter Research, the global amount of newly installed PV capacity in 2017 may well reach nearly 100 GW. Meanwhile, the polysilicon price is expected to sink, which may fuel further growth.
The U.S. solar market continues to grow, albeit slowing down slightly. Remarkably low prices for utility-scale systems have encouraged this and led to an additional 2 GW of solar capacities in the first quarter of 2017 alone.
An ambitious national energy plan is meant to push solar in the Netherlands. The plan intends for 1 – 2 million Dutch households to be furnished with PV installations over the course of the next 10 years.
